Unfortunately for Mary, life takes a drastic turn when her husband, the King dies. Leaving her at the mercy of his family. Stripped of her title, she returns to her native Scotland to take her rightful place as the Queen and rule her people. While away in France, a great many things have changed in her homeland – will she be able to rule her people and win their loyalty?
This was a first for me by this author. I’d heard great things about the “Young Royal’s” series from some fellow bloggers (and history lovers) so I decided to pick this one up and give it a go. I was thrilled by Carolyn’s writing style and how she drew me into the story. She writes with such detail and bring the story to live.
Will I recommend this book? Yes! For anyone who loves historical fiction or the history of the Royal families this is definitely something you should check out. Will I read more by this author? Oh yes, most definitely! I have already added the rest of the “Young Royal’s” series to my wishlist!
